The Sonoran University Library has a lot of essential resources and services that are important to the students, faculty and physicians on or off campus. These include very unique physical materials, and even unique online resources only accessible in the Library. As part of the Library’s effort to continue to provide access to these essential library resources and services, while also helping to keep the Sonoran University Community safe and healthy, it has implemented some guidelines and procedures for visiting the Library and obtaining resources.

We are located on the 2nd Floor of the Lim Commons Building 

 

For any Library questions or assistance, please contact the library by e-mail as the primary method of communication. Due to the library’s limited hours and staffing, the library staff is more likely to be able to respond by e-mail at most any time in the order they are received; though delays may occur. If extensive assistance by phone is necessary, scheduling an appointment during the above-mentioned Library hours will be required.

Booking A Library Study Room

The Library Study Rooms, first and foremost, are for use when utilizing Library resources, and can be booked via email library@sonoran.edu or through the form below on an as needed basis. Occasional study use can be arranged on a limited as needed basis. They cannot be booked/scheduled for recurring appointments for the entire term; though they can be booked/scheduled for up to two consecutive weeks if necessary. Please do not plan to use Library space to attend your Online courses.

Library Account Format

The following is the standard Sonoran University Library Account format in order to Login to use the Sonoran University Library resources from home (or anywhere else off campus):

     Username:  Sonoran University Email (entire Sonoran University Email address; don’t forget the ‘dot’, the @, etc.)

     Password:  Sonoran University ID # + last four digits of your phone number (as one long string of numbers, no spaces)

               Example:  j.doe@sonoran.edu   and   xxxxx1234

 

Verify Credentials

If you continue to have problems logging in to Library Databases and other Library MySonoran resources, contact the Library to verify that we have your correct information. Please indicate your name, student ID number and full phone number in your e-mail.

 

MySonoran vs. Library Logons

Please be aware that your MySonoran Log-in is entirely different and unrelated to your Library Account. Logging in to MySonoran is not logging in to the Library Account. Your Library Account logon will not work to log in to MySonoran.

Testing Center 

In addition to the many functions of the Sonoran University Library, and the various rooms and resources, the Library also has a Testing Center, which is utilized in conjunction with the Dean of Students Office, and the Accessibility Office, for those times when unforeseen events occur.

Online Exams / LockDown Browser 

Check with your instructors regarding exam times, procedures, etc. Be sure to check and test your Respondus LockDown Browser software the day before any scheduled exam.

You will be required to download and install a software program called Respondus LockDown Browser. Information regarding this software, with a link to download it, is provided by Sonoran University’s I.T. Department on a new MySonoran page. Missed Exams

It is upon the student to take the necessary action(s) to make-up a missed exam.

All missed exams must be scheduled through the form below:

 

 

All make-up exams will take place in the library and are scheduled by the Library Manager via a submitted Missed Exam Form.

Library's Cleaning & Sanitizing Practices

At our library, maintaining a clean and sanitized environment is a top priority. In addition to nightly janitorial cleaning, our dedicated Facilities personnel and Library Staff work throughout the day to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

 

Be aware of Sonoran University's Policies & Guidelines regarding COVID, and you are expected to follow protocols accordingly:  https://my.sonoran.edu/ICS/Academics  Non-compliance may result in same-day Reservation/Appointment cancellation.

 

Health and Safety Measures:

  • Nightly janitorial cleaning and frequent special cleaning by Facilities personnel during the day.
  • Library Staff may wear masks and practice social distancing.
  • Seven Deb Instant Foam Hand Sanitizer Units installed throughout the library, including in study rooms, the Copy Room, and all common areas, with one unit at the main entrance.
  • All student spaces, door handles, tables, chairs, copy machines, and the front counter are wiped down throughout the day, especially after each use.
  • Rigorous cleaning routine followed long before the Covid-19 pandemic to control and reduce exposure to germs and viruses.
  • Library stocked with disinfectants, paper towels, Kleenex, Cavicide wipes, and other essential cleaning supplies.
  • Ongoing commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment through continuous sanitization efforts.
