Academic Building: Storm Damage Impact, Labs AB4 and 8 CLOSED

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff

We wanted to provide an update on our ongoing safety and mitigation efforts in the Academic Building following recent storm-related damage. The storms caused water and moisture intrusion in several areas, and we responded promptly to ensure the health and safety of our campus community.

An independent certified environmental specialist conducted a comprehensive air quality assessment of the affected spaces, please see attached. The results confirm that our initial mitigation efforts were successful, and all tested areas are well within safe occupancy standards. In fact, most indoor readings were lower than outdoor air samples. As a result, Lab AB3 is now cleared and re-opened for normal use effective immediately.

However out of an abundance of caution, Labs AB4 and 8 will remain closed for the remainder of the quarter while we continue targeted testing efforts and storm damage repairs. Although air quality results in AB4 and 8 were well within acceptable safety margins, they were slightly elevated compared to other rooms. We are taking extra steps to ensure consistency and optimal conditions across all learning environments.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we prioritize the health and safety of our campus.
